Students Protest On Campus

Denae D'Arcy

Eugene - Students protested before the forum by, singing, dancing and holding signs. The founder of the Pacifica Forum opened the evening wondering about the cost of security, pointing out in the past officers weren’t needed. The speaker Valdas Anelauskas says the U.S. is so politically correct it’s communist. He believes all popular beliefs now are all white males are aggressors, and even being a pedophile is better viewed than being a racist. One man was kicked out of the meeting after he allegedly threatened protestors. Ten women joined arms to stand in front of the speaker; they say to demonstrate against Anelauskas’s attitude towards rape. Anelauskas ended his speech by saying he hates communism. The Pacifica Forum now meets in Agate Hall. The group use to meet in the Student Union Building, but some complained about fear of violence, so the University moved the meetings to the edge of campus.
