Anonymous Donor Gives To Food For Lane County

Eugene - An anonymous donor gave food for Lane County more than three hundred thousand dollars. Officials say they don’t know much about the donor, except the person wanted the funds to go to immediate hunger. None of the money is going directly to buy food, instead one hundred thousand of that will go into an endowment fund. Officials say this donation comes at a crucial time. “Unemployment is still in double digits, we’ve got people that are exhausting their unemployment benefits, so they have fallen off the rules. We are seeing a real need out there, and it’s been real hard for us to keep up,” Dawn Marie Woodward explains. Woodward says the donor hopes the public will feel inspired to donate as well.
